Spinosaurus by StudioSpectre Spinosaurus by StudioSpectre
Ever since I was little I have loved Dinosaurs. That love still exists and I love recreating these fascinating creatures as best as I can artistically with the best data that so many dedicated scientists can provide me. Spinosaurus probably lived near water, that much I feel would be logical due to it's fossil deposition. I made the tongue blue as a flashy way to catch the eye of a mate, or perhaps to attract a yummy fishy treat.

I like the texture of the water and the surrounding landscape. Sometimes the scene an artist puts his dinosaurs into is as important as the animals themselves, possibly even more so. The gold, blue and purple color scheme on this spinosaurus is very eye catching, especially that tongue!
I agree that spino probably lived near water, in fact it strikes me as being designed biologically as a fish eater. Either it stalked along the shoreline or it waded in and caught fish out of the water like a colossal grizzly bear.

Yes absolutely, if not a fish eater then certainly specialized for snatching little things and gobbling them up, possibly graduating to scavenging as well as they grew bigger.
I'm curious if it could have possibly used the tongue as a type of lure like a modern snapping turtle.
This spino got rejected from deviant spinosaurs because it "wasn't accurate enough" whatever that means.
I try to give lots of attention to the landscape and the plants and not ignore them.

I agree with you on the scavenging. Most big predators probably scavenged when possible, simply because one of the benefits of being bigger than the other animals around is that it makes it easier to steal from them.
Wouldn't surprise me if it used its tongue as a lure. I'm sure there are all kinds of cool little physical traits we aren't aware of scattered throughout the dinosaur world.
And I find it somewhat laughable and ridiculous that your spinosaurus got rejected from anything for not being accurate enough. It always amuses me when people talk about the "accuracy" of dinosaurs as if they can be sure of anything. Honestly, I still own books that claim dinosaurs were cold blooded tail draggers. Then they were speedy and warm blooded. Now they have feathers. Far as I'm concerned we don't know ANYTHING about them, we just seem to think we do, and we all really enjoy arguing about what we think we know.
